Well, well, well...it has been quite an adjustment here at our household. Do you know how women who have given birth sometimes say that you forget the pain, that's the only way you would ever have another child? Well, I think I had the same thing happen to me with the whole idea of getting another puppy. I'll call it puppy amnesia. I totally forgot how hard it is to have a puppy around the house who wants to chew EVERYTHING! When I get home from work I can no longer just sit and read a magazine or relax and surf the internet...if I did, then there would be more posts to my blog and lots of things in the house destroyed. Ruby better be glad she is so darn cute and has a great sense of humor because she did the traditional puppy bate-n-switch. She was so relaxed and easy going when we visited her at her previous home but as soon as we got her to our house ...CRAZEEE PUPPPPPPYY! Also...not one person who left a comment for the puppy naming contest voted for the name we chose but with only 3 people leaving a comment...You ALL will win some puppy treats! Please send an e-mail to me with your address! (I think I have all of them but just want to make sure!) firstname.lastname@example.org
God bless our soldiers, are police men and women and God bless the little children.
Take a moment to vote for your favorite puppy name. If you also leave a comment as to what name you chose and why you chose it AND your name is the name we pick for our new puppy ...you will WIN a bag of Ace's Bones for Crohns. These are homemade organic doggy treats made by me and shipped to you but ONLY if you pick the name we decide on and leave a comment. GOOD LUCK!
I went a little overboard with the crafting week, sorry about that...so much so that I even was tired of me! Well, I'm back because I need to vent. Today I got all of my hair cut off. I really like it short but everyone was telling me to grow it out so I was trying to but hated every second of it! I decided to do what makes me happy and made a trip to my wonderful hair dresser (Holly at Polaris Kenneths.) I would go back and forth over whether to cut it or not, when all along deep down I knew I wanted it short. I love wearing big earings with my short hair! But my husband also likes it longer. Can you tell that today I am struggling with acceptance? I am 38 years old, so why do I still care very much about what other's think of me? Does anyone else ever feel that way? I thought when you got older you learn to love yourself more (or at least thats what Oprah said.) I am really learning to "bloom where I am planted" and accept myself...flaws and all...accept my body (my husband tells me I am beautiful all the time, why do I refuse to believe him?)...accept my freckles and arm-wings that have snuck up on me these last few years...accept the weight that has settled along my midsection (how is that possible when I havent had any kids or done anything differently to my body in years! oh wait...maybe that's the problem?) accept my age (I really can't believe my 20 year class reunion was last weekend...and no, I didnt go.) I am a work in progress. Thanks for listening to my ramblings.
I hope you were inspired this week...I was!
Glow paint splattered inside mason jars! How fun!
Use a glue gun to write/make designs on plain jars before painting them.
Think of all the fun things you can do with paint chips!
What a great idea!
Wine rack with large plastic cups used for marker storage!
I love the idea of hunting for pennies with your birth year, anniversary year or any significant year and drilling a hole for a necklace or key chain!
I love this pantry. But isnt chalk board paint on the inside of the cupboards such a great idea?
What a great and easy thing to do...paper plates, large craft sticks and a balloon for a unique game of balloon toss!
Another creative use for balloons in this heat...a water balloon pinata!
I love this idea for a family tree!
So easy and cute bookmarks! Colored paper clips are on sale a lot right now too with back to school sales!
This looks so easy and a lot of fun for the little ones, or even bigger ones for that matter. Put goodies into a tub with water and freeze, then let them dig and hammer away! A great way to stay cool in this heat for little archeologists.
Spray painted old frames with chalkboard paint inserts!
For all my friends and family with children...I think this is a lovely idea and so simple! Pillowcase dress!
Another great use for pillow cases...for slumber parties or road trips!
Here's a great idea for storing ribbon or other little scrapbook goodies while
