Purple is such a beautiful color...calming...impressive...classy and youthful. Here is some purple passion for fall!
Love the ruffles!
Love the coat!
What would this look like paired with a bright green cardigan? Love!

The Hubster and I made our annual trip to the Country Living Fair and as always had a great time! Check out the photos below. Wish I could have taken more, but many of the booths don't allow photos.

I had to put this in here...this is a pic of the Hubster LAST YEAR at the fair...notice the shopping bags and purse he is holding!
Picture
This year he brought a back pack...no bags or purses (smart thinking!) He is holding a garden stake we found.
We saw some really cute things...purses made out of hardback books, velvet pumpkins, hand carved wood Santas, old benches, baskets and bowls. We came home with the garden stake, a golden retriever magnet, jewelry made out of scrabble pieces and chocolate crinkle cookies from The Homestead Bakery at The 200 Acres. This year we got 2 bags of the cookies instead of one because the first bag is always gone before we get home! We saw license plates from New Jersey, Michigan, Canada, Indiana, Pennsylvania, West Virginia and overheard people who flew in from Texas. Side note: Outfit Inspiration: I got many compliments from the artists on my poncho, wow did that make me feel good! You can find it and the jewelry I am wearing at Kohls, thank you 30% off coupon!

Proud to be an American. Dreaming we can be a country of solidarity, not of divisiveness. Praying for all of our service men and women. Grateful for those who ran in when everyone else was running out. Thankful for those who are protecting me while I sleep soundly.

Love how warm & cozy this outfit makes me feel, perfect for a trip to the pumpkin patch~
Very similar shirt, but with a pop of color! Never realized how cute navy and orange were together. Date night with the Hubster? ~
Another example of navy with a pop of orange/rust. Love the jacket and heels~

Well, I finally gave in to all the friends who suggested this book to me. I'm typically not into this type of book (apocalypse, violence & survival) but I'm on chapter 3 and really intrigued!  Have you read this book? Wait...Don't tell me what happens!

PART ONE: In honor of Ruby's 10 week birthday, I am reposting the recipe for Organic Dog Treats. They are so yummy (not that I've tried them.) Ace goes crazy for them and Ruby is about to try them for the first time. I will be making batches soon for the winners of the Puppy Naming Contest. Matt and I went out to dinner last night and there were screaming kids everywhere! We decided that dogs are better than kids because you can put them in a crate and go out to dinner. I don't think you are allowed to due that with kids.

Organic Dog Treats
2 cups organic whole  wheat flour
1 cup organic smooth peanut butter
1  teaspoon baking powder
1 cup organic skim milk
1  tablespoon organic honey

Preheat oven to 350  degrees.  In large bowl, combine flour and baking powder. In another large bowl,  mix peanut butter, milk and honey, then add dry ingredients.  Knead on floured  work
surface. Roll out to 1/4 inch thickness and using a bone shaped cookie  cutter,
cut out treats. Place on cookie sheets and bake for about 15-20 minutes.  Remove
from sheet and cool completely.
I have  found various sized bone cookie cutters at Hobby Lobby. They always have a 40%  off
coupon in our Sunday paper. (And it doesn't hurt that my family knows I absolutley LOVE Hobby Lobby and they get me gift cards for there!)

What am I?

PART TWO: When Hubster and I were cleaning out our garage this summer, we dumped a bunch of old soil on the side of the garage. Recently we noticed this beautful vine popping up with vibrant purple flowers. It was even growing inside the spout without any sun light! Does anyone know what flower this is?  We think it might be a Morning Glory but we really have no clue. It isn't anything we have ever planted before. Any green-thumbers out there able to to tell us what it is? I actually would love to plant more!

Today I am going to believe in myself. I am going to believe that I am pretty and I can do anything I set my mind to...that I am smart and have so much to offer the world. Today I am going to be happy and free. It's just that kind of day.

One of my favorite cookies is the OREO, especially double stuff OREO. A while ago I came across strawberry stuffed OREO's and they were a dream...like a crunchy strawberry milkshake. Limited time only, darn it, should have stocked up. Another recent OREO find was the double stuffed, with white and chocolate center. Not as good as the strawberry but still yummy. You just can't go wrong with the OREO and a cup of cold milk. I think the OREO can cure just about anything. What's your favorite cookie?

I am so excited that fall is right around the corner. Football season has started and pumpkins and mums are beginning to show up at local gardening centers. Cool crips air, beautiful colored leaves and Kirk Herbstreit and Brent Musberger giving us the play by play. What more could you ask for?  Not much.
