Waldo. My heart is broken. I think Waldo has abandoned her eggs. I haven't seen her in days. I hope I didn't scare her off. She was trying so hard to protect & care for them. I just don't know what happened. I'm sad. I'm very sad.

A while back I had a post about Ruby. Ace got a little jealous and wanted to know why he didn't have a post, seeing as he is Momma's first and favorite. So here is a little ode to Ace.

Ace, my dear puppy
Why do you look so sad?
You're soft and fluffy
And the best dog I've ever had.

I always say, my dear puppy
That you are my best teacher.
Your gentle, loving  nature is
by far your best feature.

You are Momma's favorite
And will always be Momma's first.
No other dog can say they filled
My heart so full it bursts.

Sometimes I wish I knew exactly
what you have been thinking.
I cant wait to get to heaven
Where we can have our special meeting.

I'll ask you all the things
I've always wanted to know.
And I'll be able to tell you
"Oh how I loved you so."

You'll tell me that you
knew this, you knew it from the start.
I'll tell you that you left paw prints
on every bit of my heart.

Ok, I'm getting a little impatient here...(can you hear my foot tapping on the floor?) Waldo is still sitting and waiting...and I am waiting...and waiting. For crying out loud, how long does it take for those baby eggs to hatch? I guess I could just look it up on Google or something, but it's a lot more fun to come home from work and take a peak to see if anything has happened. And I know you all are on the edge of your seats waiting for the special arrivals, right? (Can your hear my sense of sarcasm?) Hope all is well in your world.

WALDO! She is such a good Mommy. She rarely leaves her nest in the hanging basket. She keeps those eggs covered and warm and chose a bright and colorful spot for her babies to be born. We can't wait to see the 2 little baby birds when they hatch. I hope they are strong and healthy. With Waldo as their Mommy, I am sure they will be fine. It is wonderful to have a front row seat to God's beauty...as I wrote that I thought...mmm...Don't we have a front row seat to His beauty everyday in everything we do? We often just don't take the time to see it.  I must think of that more often and take a moment to witness the beauty all around me in my everyday life. God bless you!

This is our hanging basket we have on our front porch. Granted...it looks a little pathetic but we still think it's pretty (and my picture is sideways.)  I water it religiously and try to dead head it as much as possible... until recently.  I was picking away, spinning it, watering it and all of a sudden a bird came flying out of it and scared the #$% out of me! She flew into the grapevine tree in the corner of our porch and then went flip, flopping into the street.  I have named this crazy bird Waldo.
Can you find Waldo in this picture? Yeah...I couldn't either when I had my hands all up in her grill.
After I perched up on the rocking chair and peaked in, I saw a beautifully crafted nest with 2 precious white eggs in it. Waldo wasn't crazy after all, she was just trying to protect her babies. She did pick an interesting spot, seeing as we have 2 Golden Retrievers coming and going in the front door every day and Ruby is known as "Bird Killer" around these parts. But we've tried to give her some peace and quiet. I didn't get a picture of the eggs because Waldo was having a heart attack while I inspected the nest and I didn't want her to die from stress and leave the unborn babies.  I'll keep you posted on how things progress with Waldo.

I've been slacking in the reading department. Ever since I finished Fifty Shades of Grey, I havent been up to reading anything else! Just like with The Hunger Games, I got completly obsessed and then worn out. I feel like right now there is nothing that will top the high I got from Mr. Grey. Oh Mr. Grey how I miss you so.

This is Ruby. She's not a little fluff ball puppy anymore.
This is Ruby...she is getting v-e-r-y, v-e-r-y sleepy.
When Ruby gets sleepy, she thinks the human bed is her bed. The humans created a very bad precedent when she was a little fluff ball.
But Ruby thinks that if you are a very vicious guard dog and you keep the home and its inhabitants safe...sleeping in the bed is the least that can be done in gratitude.

Summer is here...and I am ready for a change. How about you? Let me know what you think of the new layout!

Why is it that you can't go into a Target store and walk out empty handed? For some reason, the clothes look nicer, the candy looks sweeter and the Starbucks coffee smells richer inside a Target store. For this reason, my favorite thing today is Target. I love everything in there! I went for a sports bra and came out with a supersize bag of m&m's (I know, I know!) and a crazy red, white and blue headband to where to my brother-in-law's Welcome Home from Afghanistan party. Some of my favorite things at Target are:
1. The beauty supply section. Smelly lotions, pretty nail polish and anti-aging creams.
2. The home section: Great picture frames, lamp bases, floor mats and kitchen gadgets.
3. The clearance sections: Usually hidden behind isles on the end caps. Score!
